We want to share with all of you who are looking for a special journey our experience, a holiday in Dubai with our kid, a travel you can do with the whole family, mostly considering the aspects that nowadays are essential to ensure that a trip is enjoyable, fun and safe.
A few years ago, already come back to Italy after living in Dubai for about three years, we started missing this city, where we had left so many nice memories. With the desire to see it again like tourists and not like residents, we started searching quotations and offers on the web, finally choosing HomeAway, and letting one of the properties proposed.
Visiting www.homeaway.com and searching by date while checking the best flights offered by Emirates, the holiday was booked in a few clicks. On our arrival, we were amazed and happy with our choice, because the house reflected exactly what we had read and seen through the images posted on the website.
The Villa was large, spacious, clean, furnished with every comfort, with a beautiful garden all around, located in a quiet area of houses like ours, with a common swimming pool and security 24hrs. (Arabian Ranches)
After a lot of time spent looking at our wonderful villa, from room to room as curious as monkeys, we got changed straight away and called a taxi, destination Mall of The Emirates. Huge shopping center, with all kinds of shops, bars and restaurants and a food court for all tastes. As we were in an Arab country how not to eat Lebanese?
After that, we brought our little girl admiring Ski Dubai, ski track, complete with everything even a chairlift, built inside the mall and protected by huge windows, with a temperature inside around zero, while outside it was 40 hot degrees.
On the fourth floor of the Mall is the Magic Planet, a place that can look like a large game room as you see it, instead inside are also rides as in a small funfair. Great for our little girl, who didn’t want to leave anymore!
Tired because of the travel, we returned to our villa, however, giving a last look at the hundreds of shops and visiting the Carrefour supermarket to do some shopping and restock our pantry.
The next day, after a nice breakfast with fresh milk and cookies, we wore beach costumes and flip flops to swim in the residential pool available only to residents and vacationers like us. The pools is equipped with sun beds and umbrellas, enclosed in a fence so that children cannot go out alone, within walking distance (from our villa was about 2 minutes), clean, with toilets and showers, and supervised by a lifeguard. We needed to refresh as the heat in Dubai is hard to bear despite we were in May.
The next stop was at the Dubai Mall, where we visited:
– Dubai Ice Rink, an ice rink inside the Dubai Mall. A big track, where you will find all you need to have fun with the kids.
– The Dubai Aquarium spectacular is the only word we have to describe the wonder of this aquarium in the center of the Dubai Mall. Everyone can enjoy the large bath containing many species of fish through a large window which is the world’s largest acrylic glass (32.88 meters wide, 8.3 meters long and 750 mm thick). A Guinness World Record also for the capacity of 10 million liters of water which makes it the largest aquarium all over the world. You will enter a tunnel and you will be completely surrounded by the fish, to enter later the marine zoo (the latter not for free) and admire the different species of fish, from the smallest and coloured ones to the sharks.
– The Dubai Fountain, at the Dubai Mall. Spectacular, as a huge fountain where every hour there is a music show, fire and colours that, synchronized by the music, make a real magic show.
Burj Khalifa with its 829.8 meters og height has achieved the highest building in the world primacy. You can admire the spectacular panorama, take the elevator that takes you in a few seconds to the observation deck located at the 124th floor of the skyscraper. Thanks to powerful telescopes you will be able to admire the city from above and then continue the visit in multimedia exhibitions where you will know the history of the tower, ways and timing of its construction.
The following days we visited the city with the Big Bus Tour. Perfect for those who want to visit the whole city, the bus, equipped with earphones in several languages, will take you to visit museums, souks, mosques, in short, a beautiful way to discover the city.
We did not miss a moment of relaxation at the Jumeirah Beach Residence. Long, white beach, clear water and a nice walk for shops, restaurants and kiosks. Thus, sea and shopping all in one place!
On the last day we decided to go Aquaventure Waterpark, located inside one of the most beautiful hotels in Dubai, The Atlantis, recent construction located in the Palm Jumeirah. To better understand, it’s the artificial palm-shaped island. The Park is huge, clean and the staff always present and careful. From steepest slides to the playground area for the youngest ones, everything is designed for everyone’s fun.
A perfect holiday for all the family, safe destination if you consider there aren’t health or security issues. Guaranteed by us of Cocco on the road.
Have a nice journey!
